Flood Fest

Flood came out of Ipswich as a response to the 2011 Queensland floods and the suburban life around them — a dance style built on distorted, grotesque shapes that grew out of that. Flood Fest is the weekend the collectives who dance it come home: performances, sessions, workshops and battles, with guest artists from the USA and interstate standing alongside dancers from up the road.
